Replacement door handle for all Ahorn motorhome models in which this model handle was installed on the body door.

This handle was created as a result of a customer order, as it was not possible to purchase this handle as a spare part from either Ahorn or the manufacturer of the door handle.
We reconstructed this handle for the customer using the fragments of the broken original and developed this final version with incorporating the customersfeedback throughout the further development of prototypes. The weak points of the original handle were reduced and hopefully eliminated by reinforcements and design adjustments.
It appears that comparable handles have been installed on Eriba models. To ensure that this handle also fits, please contact us and ideally send us a few photos of the handle next to a folding rule. If necessary, we will send you a test prototype so that you can check the fit.
The tang of our handle is solid and reinforced over the length of the bushing to eyelet - which has also received a reinforcement ring on one side around the eyelet at the end of the tang. Like the manufacturer of the original handle, we use a glass fiber reinforced filament. This makes the handle extremely hard and resilient.

The handle is printed and delivered as "raw”. This means that the handle should still be smoothed at your own discretion by sanding (with breathing protection) and then provided with a (silver) layer of spray paint.

• Variant made of massiv ABS in silver gray, which also has a very high hardness and can be reworked at your discretion. To ensure the handle is long term UV resistant, a spray paint coating is a must.
     
  
• Variant made of glass fiber reinforced ABS in gray. This must be sealed with at least one coat of clear varnish to prevent tiny glass fibers from coming loose.
        
  Manual sanding (respiratory protection required) is recommended, and sealing or painting is mandatory.
  

   

  Now we have gone one step further and can offer you two additional options (metal-reinforced/or as a third-party order as a fully tainless steel version), which we have developed for production by a metal fabricator.
  The simpler—and also significantly cheaper—version has a stainless steel insert that serves the main load points of the entire mechanism. On one end, the handle axis passes through the stainless steel insert, and on the other end, there is an eyelet for the locking mechanism.
  The handle, printed from solid ABS, then serves only to fix and guide this metal insert.
  This handle also requires some spray paint coating to protect the ABS from UV.
        

  And this is the variant in white ASA (to be spray painted).
      

  The other option we offer, which we order from the metal fabricator upon customer's request and which has a delivery time of 8-10 weeks, is a full metal stainless steel version of the handle.
  This is of course the toughest, strongest and most durable version, but unfortunately also has its price...(see shop) and will also need some coating finish like spray paint.
